For all those who have lost their hair to untimely fall or who those want to alter their hairlines, hair transplant is definitely among the top and latest craze in India and globally. The prime question remains, are hair transplants really safe and successful? Does the effect of hair transplant last forever? Will the procedure result in unwarranted tissue changes in the body?

3D rules of Hair Transplant

Basic Steps for Hair Transplant:

Hair transplant is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of hair follicles from a particular site in the body. The site can include your face or legs which is later planted on the hairless portions. The same procedure is also used in transplanting hair in lashes and brows.

As per Dr. Jangid, Best Skincare Expert in Delhi NCR, “The latest techniques for hair transplants are permanent and effective that apparently pick up follicular clusters of hair. This process of hair transplant is known as Follicular Hair Transplantation (FUT) which is being carried forward in two ways, namely – Strip harvesting and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).”

Surgeons these days are widely going for strip harvesting as the treatment leaves a slim scar at the donor site, promising recovery within two weeks. Whereas, FUE is carried forward in different sitting, depending upon the patient’s case and hair fall condition. FUE is basically a time consuming and manual process that provides natural results without leaving any marks behind. However, it’s not a cost-effective process which is why usually doctors don’t opt for this mode of treatment.

Basic Steps for Hair Transplantation:

Preparation: The initial step of the hair transplantation includes the procedure that deals with the removal of hair follicles from the back of the head, further relocating to the balding areas.

Trimming of Donor Area: Before the initiation of the surgery, the hair in the donor area is trimmed.

Preparation for Surgery: After the hair in the donor area is trimmed, it’s given local anesthesia.

The Removal of Tissue from Donor Area: The donor area must be having tissues that contain the bald resistant hair follicles which are removed surgically. Post this, the donor area is sutured.

The Trimming of Donor Tissue: Surgical technicians further use microscopes for viewing the donor tissue in order to dissect and prepare follicular unit hair grafts.

Combed hair over the sutured donor area: The sutures in the donor area are hidden from the patient’s hair that is combed over them. These sutures are removed almost ten days after the hair transplant surgery.

Donor tissue trimmed into follicular unit grafts: Microscopes are then used by the surgical technicians to view the donor tissue for dissecting and preparing follicular unit hair grafts.

The Preparation of Bald Recipient Area: After the local anesthesia is offered to the patient, the balding recipient area is set ready for the surgical process. Remember that no trimming of hair is required at the top of the recipient area.

Incisions in the Balding Areas: The tiny incisions are exposed to Follicular Unit Grafts that exist in an irregular pattern.

Grafts as Per the Densities: The smallest grafts are places in front of the hairline whereas denser grafts are placed behind.

Post Hair Transplant Surgery: Once the surgery is done, tiny incisions with short hair start to turn visible on the patient’s operated area. The redness that a patient might experience after the surgery will eventually vanish within a week.
